It is 2009 and breeding season is here. This is our second year offering our stallion at stud, Sonoran Knight Elmer DM. 2008 was a great first year and Elmer successfully bred many crosses and purebreds around the nation. If you are interested in breeding to a Clydesdale with exceptional bloodlines this is your opportunity.
Elmer comes from highly desired Budweiser lines and direct connections back to Scottish and British breeders.
Elmer is a classic dressage mover with minimal knee action and sets himself right underneath from his hip. He will cross well with tb's, standardbreds, saddlebreds, large quarter horses and paints.
Elmer is four and is currently standing at 17.2 hands. When fully mature at 5, he will be approximately 17.3 or 18 hands. His cannon bones are currently 10" in circumfrance and his hooves measure 8 inches from side to side and front to back. His hoof walls are an inch thick and very strong and hard.
As you can see his color is phenominal and we expect him to throw lots of chrome. He has very thick, but silky, feathers and a long, thick, strong mane and tail.
Elmer has been in dressage training for the past two years and demonstrates a very soft mouth with a responsive attitude. He has been very easy to start under saddle and work with. Intelligence, coupled with his easy going personality, his babies will exhibit athleticism with a good tempermant.
Elmer is a registered Clydesdale Stallion with The Clydesdale Breeders of the United States (21661) and The Clydesdale Assocation of Canada (m34609). He is also recognized by the American Warmblood Association and the International Gerogian Grande Horse Registry.
Elmer is AI only and his semen ships well with high motility and survival rates. All mares bred in 2008 took on the first breeding.
